At Oasis we are always trying to produce better plants and that involves our staff developing their growing skills, sourcing the best plants from around the world and breeding new and exciting plant varieties ourselves.

For over 10 years we have been breeding plants and releasing these to the world market. For many years the research focused on Geralton Wax (Chamelaucium sp.) and while originally focusing on the use of this plant indoors, today the Cascade series of Geralton Wax are sold in the USA and Australia. Gardeners find these plants produce a mass of flowers on soft, pendulous foliage.

Another of the long term breeding projects is a program conducted in association with the Plant Breeding Institute at Sydney University. This saw an the release of an exciting new style of chilli which produces excellent hot culinary fruit - 7 on the chilli scale and also makes a fabulous ornamental plant with chilli colour ranging from green, cream, purple and red during its development. These are easily recognised in garden centres as Burke's Backyard Chillis.

The newest product to be released are Bracteantha Homestead Series (Everlasting Daisies) with colours including Antique Shades, Gold and Cream. Homestead Bracteanthas are compact plants producing an abundance of flowers. They are available in Australia this season and will be released in the USA later in the year.
