Oasis is dedicated to providing Australians with the best performing vegetable varieties.  This season is no exception with the release of four outstanding F1 hybrids selected for their superior flavour, performance and cropping potential in the home garden.


Tomato 'Truss Plum'
Tomato Truss Plum produces many symmetrical trusses of plum-shaped fruit of outstanding quality and uniformity.  The fruit is a shiny, dark red with well-textured flesh and an excellent sweet flavour.  This indeterminate tomato has a lengthy cropping season, good fruit setting ability, and is resistant to most common tomato diseases.  It also has great fruit holding capacity on the vine.

Strawberry  'Supreme'
Strawberry Supreme is a highly productive variety with sweet, conical-shaped fruit appearing from early in the first year.  This superior strawberry is a strong and naturally compact grower boasting a longer harvest period and higher levels of vitamin C than many other strawberry varieties.  Pick fruit regularly to encourage ongoing cropping.


Watermelon 'Seedless Red' and 'Seedless Yellow'
Two fantastic new Seedless varieties available with bonus pollinizer watermelon plants for a bumper yield.  Sweet and good to eat!
Oasis Seedless Watermelons are uniquely presented in 125mm pots containing one seedless watermelon (red or yellow) and one bonus pollinizer watermelon plant. 
Seedless Watermelons grow to approximately 5 7kgs in weight and have a thin rinds encompassing firm, crisp, sweet flesh.
The pollinizer watermelon produces masses of flowers to encourage fruit set in the Seedless Watermelon variety.  Plant the pollinizer within 4 5m of the Seedless variety for best results.

Oasis Thumbs Up Pot Vegies are high-yielding, compact varieties that are perfectly suited to growing in containers and that look and taste great. 

The range includes capsicum, chilies, tomatoes, strawberries, zucchini, cute miniature pumpkins, and even baby-sized watermelons!  We’ve also introduced some sensational, newly developed varieties sourced from some of the best international plant breeders that we know will produce fantastic results in Australian gardens. 

Most varieties are so compact they require little staking, tying or pruning so they’re ideal for gardeners with little space and limited time.  Pot Vegies varieties are equally suited to garden beds and the traditional vegetable patch too.

The following Pot Vegies varieties are available at leading nurseries and garden centres this spring:

Capsicum 'Sweet Red'
Capsicum ‘Sweet Red’ is a neat, compact variety to 30-40cm high producing high yields from early in the season.  The 10-13 cm long fruit mature within only 8-9 weeks from planting turning from green through purple to dark red, and remaining on the plant for an extended period.  

Chilli 'Red Hot'
Chilli ‘Red Hot’ has been developed specifically for pot culture and yields a prolific crop of hot pointed peppers from early in the season. Reaching just 45cm high, this sensational variety produces 5-7cm long fruit that mature from green to bright red. Plant in a 30cm well drained pot in a full sun position for a harvest in 12-14 weeks.

Chilli 'Sweet Salsa'
Chilli ‘Sweet Salsa’ is a compact variety to 35cm that produces masses of small, attractive fruit that turn brilliant red at maturity.  Provides months of garden colour and may even be displayed indoors for short periods.  Remove ripe fruit regularly to prolong cropping.  Ideal for small to medium sized pots.

Cucumber 'Bush Bonanza'
Cucumber ‘Bush Bonanza’ is a compact variety that produces no runners and adapts to a range of climates.  Use a medium sized pot and place in a sunny spot for a harvest in 9-10 weeks.  This bush-type cucumber has pale green cylindrical fruit to 20cm.  It prefers a well-drained position and protection from strong winds.

Eggplant 'Mini Lebanese'
Eggplant ‘Mini Lebanese’ is a highly productive vigorous plant producing small, delicious slender fruit ideal for Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine.  Position in a sunny spot and use a medium-to-large pot.  Pick fruit regularly to prolong harvest.

Lettuce 'Profusion'
Lettuce ‘Profusion’ is a flavorsome mix of green and red loose-leaf lettuces.  Plant Lettuce ‘Profusion’ in its own container or combine with other Pot Vegies varieties. Harvest outside leaves first. Start with plenty of organic matter and keep well watered in hot weather.

Pak Choi 'Mix'
Pak Choi ‘Mix’ is a selection of green stemmed and white-stemmed vigorous, oriental vegetables that are easy to grow in pots.  The tasty leaves and stems that may be used in stir-fries, salads, and soups and for pickling.  Plant in a 30‑40cm pot or out in the vegetable patch

Pumpkin 'Baby'
Pumpkin ‘Baby’ is ideal for container growing on patios and balconies because it doesn’t spread as far as traditional varieties.  Choose a full sun position and a medium-large sized pot.  Pumpkin ‘Baby’ produces small fruit, bright orange fruit that store well.  Protect from frost.

Silverbeet 'Tricolour'
The brightly coloured stalks of Silverbeet ‘Tricolour’ makes it an attractive addition to patio and balcony planters.  This variety grows to 30-40cm tall and is ready to harvest in 7-9 weeks.  Harvest outside leaves first.

NEW! Squash ‘Wonder White’
Squash
‘Wonder White’ produces large patty-pan fruit 15‑20cm and is better suited for small gardens and pot culture than other varieties.  It spreads to approx 60cm when grown in pots and to approx. 120cm when planted in the ground.  Use at least a 40cm well-drained container for a harvest in 10‑12cm.  Constant harvesting encourages a longer cropping period.

Strawberry 'Delight'
Strawberry ‘Delight’ is a robust performer producing sweet, medium-sized fruit from pretty pink flowers that can be shown off to best advantage in pots or hanging baskets.  Excellent strawberry flavour! Use a strawberry pot or well-drained 30cm container in a full sun position for a harvest in 14-18 weeks.

NEW! Strawberry 'Hokowase'
Strawberry ‘Hokowase' is an exceptionally sweet, low-acid variety from Japan that produces large fruit early in the season.  Plants are sourced from virus free stock.  Plant in full sun position 25cm apart. 

NEW! Strawberry ‘Lowanna’
Strawberry ‘Lowanna’ is a high-yielding variety bred for Australian conditions and has a much longer fruiting period than many other varieties.  For best results plant in a full sun position.

 

NEW! Strawberry ‘Tioga’
Strawberry ‘Tioga’ is an exceptionally sweet variety that has been bred for its fine flavour and is low in acid.  Plants are sourced from virus-free stock.  As with other strawberry varieties ‘Tioga’ prefers a full sun position, good drainage and plenty of organic matter

NEW! Tomato ‘San Marzano’
Tomato ‘San Marzano’ has that true Italian Roma taste.  The sweet, firm fruit have thick skins and are produced on compact, bush-shaped plants.  No pruning required!  Use a 25cm pot or larger with good drainage.  Expect to harvest in 12 14 weeks.

Tomato 'Window Box Roma'
Tomato ‘Window Box Roma’ is a super performer for containers and window boxes yielding a bumper crop of bright red, plum shaped fruit of approx. 5cm in size.  This is a wonderful tomato producing full-flavoured fruit within approx. 12-14 weeks of planting.

Tomato 'Tumbling Red' and 'Tumbling Yellow'
Tomato ‘Tumbling Red’ and Tomato ‘Tumbling Yellow’ are great tasting cherry tomatoes that look fantastic tumbling over the edges of pots and hanging baskets.  Position in sunny spot and expect to harvest in 12-14 weeks approx.

Watermelon Baby 'Orange' and 'Red'
Watermelon Baby ‘Orange’ and ‘Red’ are delicious small and sweet varieties with very few seeds.  Watermelon Baby spreads to a modest approx 1m wide making it perfect for small spaces.  Use a 40cm pot and select a full sun position.
 

Zucchini 'Gold Bullion'
Zucchini ‘Gold Bullion’ is the one of the best compact bush type varieties available reaching only 50cm high and with a modest spread.  It is ideal for pot culture, producing an abundance of yellow cylindrical-shaped fruit that are best harvested when 15-18cm long.  Use a 40-50cm well-drained pot and place in a full sun position.
